
Here is one of the Monarch cats silked up to a plant leaf and ready to become a beautiful chrysalis. They do this very quickly, I hope I can catch it in the act tomorrow. (Please don't make fun of my stickers either! lol

ANNNND! Voila! Monarch Chrysalis! again, this picture does not do it justice, it's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen! It's a gorgeous mint green color and it has gold and iridescent spots all around it. Here's to hoping this one is not devoured by Tachinid fly larva. I gathered this one from the garden in this state and it's not already gone, which is a good sign. However, those little dark spots could be a sign of another common Monarch parasite. :/ Poor little guy, Hope he makes it!

Just to show you how extremely small these are. My index finger. Hard to believe a full sized (but scrunched up) butterfly is going to come out of this!
