I can't claim credit totally...I saw this graphic and then made it into a pattern. It took me while to clean it up and make it symmetrical.

the original artist is David Goh, and you can see some of his other work here

I'll share the pattern but if you are going to want to do the black work like i did... I don't have a pattern for that....
Here's what I did. I just basically backstitch around the outside of the entire pattern with 2 strands. Once that was done i just searched blackwork on google and picked 3 patterns I liked and thought looked good. I thought the red in the symbol kind of looked like DNA strands to tie into Desmond. Then it's just about filling in the hole with that pattern. Beware this technique takes a lot of thread. it took almost a whole skein of red.....
Also there are a few shadows under the hood to show his face protruding a little bit...but when I did them in the gray....it looked really weird and almost like his face was caving...not a good effect. So I omitted them. You can also obvious just do regular cross stitch too. I'll post a photo of what I mean by fillling in the space with the pattern here in a minute...it's on my iphone.
Here is what I mean by outlining and then filling in.

*see what I mean about that shadow in the face looking horrendous?*
