Gray Warden Motto Cross Stitch

I'll admit that I'm more than slightly obsessed with the video game Dragon Age: Origins. I really love the Gray Warden motto so I thought it would be really cool to have it cross stitched. I designed the border myself, and even though it's pretty simple I'm still proud of it. I tea-dyed the aida, then hand painted the "blood stains" with acrylic paint mixed with a medium to make the paint permanent on fabric. The paint was much more vibrant on regular aida, I think the tea affected how the aida took it. But I still think it looks cool.

This is very cool! Great idea about the tea staining on the aida. I think it gives it a much more believable blood stain. Excellent job!

I love how this turned out (though I know nothing of Dragon Age). I think it's amazing that there are so many things one can do with cross stitching that makes it unique and utterly different than the samplers of old.

The staining is very realistic! It's very beautifully done, and I know that "aging" fabric can be difficult. You should be very proud.
