Thanks, BMH, that looks a lot clearer than the one I made, but is it still going to be too blurry for the square?

So I'm a long way from doing my 2nd square but I thought I'd pick out a game no one has picked for the last few quilts and design a few possible squares from Tomba 1. I put all of these images into KG-Chart and they all need to be cleaned up a bit first before I can make a pattern out of them. I'm not sure which is the best picture though.

Frankly, I'm partial to the scene with the pig because it's so colorful and the pigs are so prominent in the game, they're almost as famous as Tomba himself. But they're not the main character so I'm torn.

Shouldn't be, when they're stitched they look a lot better than the preview images. Do let me know if you need something else, I'll try to help as best as I can!

Does anyone ever experiment with purposly changing the stitch direction? Because apparently, last year when I started this square, I crossed the starting cross from upper left to bottom right, but since have discovered that I feel much more comfortable going bottom left to upper right. So I was thinking of doing where everything in the foreground is the way I've already done, and then everything in the background the other way, and in theory maybe that would make the things in the front pop a little because of the difference? But I don't want to test this with hours and hours of work just to have it look horrible

Okay, I just worried because I've never participated in this before. Thank you so much, I'll use the pattern you made because it's better than the one I did lol

I'm not sure anyone has for the quilt squares but I have seen it used on other projects and it's a nice effect. I can't see it affecting anything outside of the square, so I say it'll probably be fine. Do check with tnitnetny though!

I have found it doesn't make a difference with the order that you stitch, especially once you wash it.

Still would like to know if my cropped Alleyway pic will be acceptable or not?
