Re: APRIL Challenge - Samplers
Kuja -> This isn't really a "challenge" in the sense that we'll be voting and stuff (at least that's the way I understand it). This is taking the place of one of your swaps because of the last one went horribly, I think. This is just something to give us a sense of togetherness without having to rely on sending things to other people.

Ok, now I understand! I'm guessing there was another thread that went over this that I did not read ;)MeiTow wrote:Kuja -> This isn't really a "challenge" in the sense that we'll be voting and stuff (at least that's the way I understand it). Now that I have a better understanding of the project I also think that everyone should submit patterns but that the choosing of the bands/order/colors/etc should be left to the individual. That way everyone can make something that they enjoy!

Re: APRIL Challenge - Samplers
That's a good idea. I was kind of set on everyone doing the same thing because it is a sampler but I understand Bex's concerns about games that I don't like/play/know etc.kuja.girl wrote: Now that I have a better understanding of the project I also think that everyone should submit patterns but that the choosing of the bands/order/colors/etc should be left to the individual. As a crappy pattern maker, I'd like to throw out some games for other, better, pattern-makers to do that I'd like to see.
Tetris
Diablo (any of them)
Animal Crossing
Bejeweled
Temple Run
Q-Bert (probably my favorite game of all time lol)
Frogger
Snow Bros.
Donkey Kong
Any of the Lego games

Re: APRIL Challenge - Samplers
I played around with a couple of Donkey Kong bands this morning. The first one is kind of like a Lady & the Tramp moment where Pauline (that's her name, right?) and Mario both destroy the same barrel. Sort of plain, but maybe easier for personalizing. The second was me being goofy and putting Mario in an "OH S H ! T" situation because I thought it would look funny stitched. lol

I think so, Brain, but can the gummi worms really live in peace with the marshmallow chicks?
I think so, Brain, but if they called them "sad meals" nobody would buy them.

Re: APRIL Challenge - Samplers
I had thought of doing MQ, but I was concerned about anti-MQ mobs torching my house.
EDIT: Just finished my second band. I'm particularly proud of it; everything was hand generated, pixel by pixel. No importing images here.

Re: APRIL Challenge - Samplers
I'm loving some of the suggestions here. Some really nice ones!
But just let me check to see if I've got this right. All the samplers/suggestions/patterns will be gathered in a thread, and then we choose 4 of them to stitch, and those 4 finished pictures is our contribution to the challenge? So it's kind of an stitch-along-challenge?
