We've done it before, it works very well! No reason we couldn't do that again sometimeMeiTow wrote:As an aside, mash-ups might be a good challenge. lolol

Re: MARCH Challenge - Minimalism!
Whipped this one out today. I'll admit, I was a bit daunted by this task. At first it seems very simple, but when I did a Google search for inspiration, I discovered that it could be a bit more difficult than I first thought. I would have loved to do something more like what I saw, but this is what I came up with that I knew I could finish.
I have an idea to add to it and put it up by my computer, but that'll have to come later.

Here is my entry!
EDIT: I uploaded a nicer picture. The old one looked more grey than blue!

Re: MARCH Challenge - Minimalism!
I decided to expand on my first idea of the "Eye of the Great Tiger." Mike Tyson's Punch Out is maybe my all time favorite video game. The very first time I beat every boxer from Glass Joe all the way to Iron Mike, it felt like the biggest accomplishment in my life up to that point. I decided I wanted to do a small project to always reflect on that accomplishment, by looking simply into the eyes of the boxer's every time I read.
So for my project, I made a Mike Tyson's Punch Out Bookmark.

Wow, that is nice! Very neat idea. Who would thought, your favorite game is Punch-Out.natepopinski wrote:I decided to expand on my first idea of the "Eye of the Great Tiger." Double post!
Got my first minimalism piece done! Had a mix up in one of the colors, using plum instead of medium plum but still turned out great.

Will start my next one later in the day.

I like! I have no idea what the game is but it is pretty. And your stitching is so ohmygosh tidy.

Re: MARCH Challenge - Minimalism!
Thank you!
Its from the ending screen from The Guardian Legend on the NES. I wanted the focus of this piece to be on fashions. Yeah, like every girl in the future is going to be wearing something like that! Lol. Actually, that pretty much is the case for most anime, comic book and game girls, skimpy skin tight outfits, of coarse you don't see the whole thing here, but you can tell. Interestingly when I had first played and beaten this game long ago (early 90s) I had actually thought that headgear of her's was a shoe (took me a while to realize what it really was), silly but well heck, does kinda look like one minus the heel.
Here's the original image:

And me minimalized pattern:

My next one will be hair, and the black space it frames, can't wait to do it. Hopefully it turns out as nice as I think it will.
