if there is anything you can do to increase the colors from snake to snake so they are a bit different that would be great

Sorry for the wait!
Here is a second version of the pattern.
It ended up being easier just to re-do the pattern with more colours (but trying to make the program concentrate on foreground colours, lots of fun!). I think the snakes do look better though. Have a look and see what you think of it!

Here are the images I used for the patterns.
I used the image you uploaded and saved as web gifs in Photoshop, reducing the size and colours etc. Of course, the colours in the pattern may look slightly different from the image but that's down to the RGB palette used in PC Stitch. The thread colours should be ok, though!
