Wooooow I've had a request to make something like this from a friend, but it'll have to wait until next year. Once I start I will definitely post WIPs.

Ok...So I kinda went on an OCD-inspired stitching binge the past few days. :clapping:

Here's the first completed page (of 35) Which makes me now 2.89% complete, and it'll take just under two years averaging 165 stitches a day. I really need to stop doing this myself :swoon:

Ok...I think I really need to stop with the OCD stitching...lol. Granted, I have been looking for jobs, so stitching is not the only thing I've been doing. Page 2 is complete!! Granted it was a measily 2199 stitches  but still! I've now completed about 4.8% complete, and have done 5,656 stitches, most of them in the past two weeks. The next page I'm doing is only 736 stitches (it's just the bottom-right corner of light world and the top-right corner of dark world), so I should have that done in a couple days.

Here's my WIP:

Also, just as a disclaimer, I really am having a blast working on it, but it's kinda a vent for lack of hearing back from potential employers and other stresses right now...and I tend to kinda go off the deep-end when the stress starts getting to me...Trust me, this is by far the most productive nervous break-down I've ever had!!! My progress will probably grind virtually to a halt whenever I start working, but my goal is still to finish this by Christmas time next year (which I'm currently on pace for).

This is looking absolutely amazing!! Totally feel you on the stress relief - there are some days where xstitch is the only thing that got me through.

Looking at lots of other people's work, which is all amazing, by the way, I noticed that the majority of large projects are stitched in a more free-form method than working one page at a time. Is there a reason for this? For all I know it's just a matter of preference, and I don't really see any 'seams' where the pages meet. If it's just a matter of preference, I'll just keep going page by page because I'm so worried that I'll start missing stitches as I go.

But I do admit it's annoying to only stitch 3 stitches on a single page, knowing that the page above has eleventy million stitches in that color.

That's exactly why I move around :) I have had to unpick stitches because they're in the wrong spot, but only every once and awhile, and then I can do big chunks of color.

Personal preference. I tend to do my patterns top left corner to bottom right, though I'll stick to big fill areas and do detailed / smaller stitches later. I know a lot of people do the opposite (bottom right to upper left), while others start in the middle -- I'm too paranoid to do that.
Also found a big piece of fabric to do this on pre-cut and on sale, woohoo!

I always start from the middle and work my way out. I don't want to start in a corner and work my way over to find out that I didn't leave enough space along the edge or too much spac and I'm way to lazy to count! :) Basically I'll start with the biggest chunk of colour I can closest to the exact middle. I usually stitch colour by colour until it's a very very large project and then I would probably concentrate more on specific areas while I work my way out.
