Welcome to Sprite Stitch, and the Epic Pokemon Pattern!! I can't believe how many people have taken this one up since I started this thread, lol! It's amazing how many loonies are out there :D
Bunkum wrote:How do people just jump about the aida doing all one colour?! what if you were wrong?! My "plan" is to start in a corner.
If you're wrong, you unpick or cut out the stitches and re do them. I'm pretty good at counting my stitches so I like to get a lot of one colour (especially the 310, like you say techno-ninja, it's ALWAYS the 310!) done at once. That said, I have made mistakes on occasion, so I just unpick the stitches when I need to - it's not really a problem but it can be quite tedious :D Also, I did start in a corner, but I just made my way out!

Please do post any WIP pictures you get, it's always good to see them!! ^^

That's if you find the mistake quick enough!! Always double and triple check youve got the right place before you start stitching! I Only started off with black, the background blue and a couple of yellows, (I couldnt affordto go out and buy all 104 colours, still cant now actually! :cray: ) so thats why I had to count and run away all over the aida with black, (which, Ive nearly finished with, pic to follow soon!)

But if you do mess up and not realise in time, my guess is that youll barely notice anyway, especially if its only 1 or 2 stitches out, as its such a massive pattern that you probably wont notice once its finished anyway!!

I know Ive messed up a long time ago...cos I did the sides then met up in the middle and it didnt quite fit...but Im in too deep and havent got the paitence to find out where I went wrong and unpick it all!! Thats why you should ALWAYS triple check! Or just get a couple of colours and do a pokemon at a time!

Welcome to the forum, you crazy person! Lol! Make sure you come back and post pics of your progress!! :good:

its really interesting how everyone does their stitching. i personally cant stand stitching all of one colour coz i get bored. my preferred method is to do one or two pokemon at a time... make me feel like i'm accomplishing smaller goals!

here are a couple of new pics- fuzzy and from iphone, sorry bout the quality...

Cheers all!

This is the way I'm going - done a good few hours since got (some) colours on Friday - i am suffering from cross-stitch cocyx!

Can't quite believe i have started this... :D I have almost done the little starry yellow fella in the top left corner...but it's back to work on Monday (i've had swine flu) so fingers crossed life doesn't start to take my full attention away...

Thank you for the kind words.

Me again.

For the people that are doing the whole piece all over the shop - are you all using the big frame things? I'm using a large hoop but I'm a bit anxious of when the time comes to move it - can the stitching hold up? or will it be a case of suck it and see and fix if necessary?

I'm amazed by this site - it's really inspired me - I'm keeping all receipts and taking photos every night so I'm in it for the long haul - when did this thread start? 2008? :clapping:

Holy jesus chouchou26e, you've done amazingly well! (I only wish I could have done as much!)

I have been using a large standing frame, but more recently I've just been holding the fabric in the hand - I have a really sore shoulder at the minute and some areas on the frame are hard for me to get to. Personally I wouldn't use a hoop on something this large, cos I hate holding them for extended lengths of time, but that's just me lol! ^^

I started this thread in August 2009 when I first started stitching this, hoping it might keep me motivated. Back then there was only a handful of us tackling this project :D

As a side note, I've just noticed this thread has had 15455 views so far...not bad! :D
