Onesies Help

Post by whysewserious »

So, I did a search to see if I could find anything all ready posted up in the forums and either I didn't look properly or there was nothing. A friend of mine is having a baby soon and I was thinking about doing some fun onesies for her little boy. I sew a lot so I've all ready got ideas for cool things to do there. However, since I'm new to cross stitch I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for using cross stitch on onesies. Meaning how do I attach cross stitch to a onesie or for any other fabric for that matter. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks guys.

Waste canvas is a good way of cross stitching onto fabric. You just attach it to the fabric and stitch as normal and once you've finished you just dampen the canvas and pull out the threads. There's a really good tutorial about it here: http://www.cross-stitching.com/kh_page.asp?id=84

DMC also sells soluble canvas that... well... dissolve in water.
