On 14 count it would be approximately 18.3 x 32.1 inches.

stephaniem- Finding cloth big enough, all of us are using 18 ct., is tough, and costs ~$8. There are 104 colors, so depending on how many of them you have to buy, that could add up to over $35, and that's if you buy only 1 skien of each, and you may need more than one for a few colors. You could use coupons to take the edge off of this though. So those, along with needles, and maybe a hoop could be around $40-$50 total. I bought a floor scroll stand for this, and that was about $50, so my total was more. I was thinking about if I ever finish this, maybe I'd post it on eBay for enough to cover part of my college, so... join the dark side, we have cookies!
Wow! Where are you getting your thread? I have a massive Wizard of Oz stitch I'll hopefully be starting this week (if the linen ever shows up) and 90 colours was about $50 after taxes at Micheals (in Ontario).

I get my thread at JoAnne's or Michaels, whichever has what I need, and it's about ¢35 per skien. This is in Maple Grove, MN though, and they usually have a deal like "buy 3 get one free," so it's a pretty good deal. I didn't think about the prices in other areas, sorry.

it's a bit more expensive over here. at the moment €1, is $1,36. that's already a handicap. and one floss thingy is €1.
so a 104 colours = €104. then the fabric.. i don't wanna think about that..
if you want some good and pretty aïda, it's €16 per meter. and a hoop is about €20.
so.. €140 = $190,40.

meh >.<

but someday.. i'm gonna do it xD

I paid £18 for a metre of double-width 16ct aida from a local craft shop (before it sadly closed) - it was something of a deal from the ladies there. I'm still working my way through that piece of aida!
I buy my skeins from shops on ebay, I have used Across Town Stitching, SewandSo and others but I'm currently using Enchanted Needle - it always arrives VERY fast, no mistakes and all skeins are pre-wound on bobbins! I think I get about 50 for £16, something like that. I also use a large scrolling frame, that cost me about £30. Needles are fairly cheap and I have a decent supply of those.

All in all, not the cheapest project ever (and the cost is sure to rise as I go on, I'm sure) but WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!

Hi guys am sorta new to the forums so dont know if this will turn out well but count me in in the list of "loonies" attempting to do this bad boy.
ive start at the bottom left with bulbasaur but only have 4 out of the 104 colours to do so but just ordered more online. ive been taking a picture of each day of my progress (dont worry wont be uploading onto the forums everyday) and ill start up a photobucket account soon.

Would like to maybe do the pokemon from gold and silver after this? what do you guys think?

So it turns out that there were two colours with the same symbol in the pattern, 3608 and 3727. I've updated the pattern thread with the changed symbols. If you have already done some of the parts with these colours, I wouldn't worry about it as they are quite similar. (Both pink-ish)

So it appears that Nintendo just recently announced Pokemon White & Black games, am guessing this will prob bring the grand total to at leist 550ish pokemon, hoping about time I get this one done (blue, green, red generation) the pattern maker will have made a gold/silver one, I would like to have all 5 generations done and hopefully be the same size sothey match
