Gray Warden Motto Cross Stitch

Post by PinkPoodle »

I'll admit that I'm more than slightly obsessed with the video game Dragon Age: Origins. I really love the Gray Warden motto so I thought it would be really cool to have it cross stitched. I designed the border myself, and even though it's pretty simple I'm still proud of it. I tea-dyed the aida, then hand painted the "blood stains" with acrylic paint mixed with a medium to make the paint permanent on fabric. The paint was much more vibrant on regular aida, I think the tea affected how the aida took it. But I still think it looks cool.

This is very cool! Great idea about the tea staining on the aida. I think it gives it a much more believable blood stain. Excellent job! :)

I love how this turned out (though I know nothing of Dragon Age). I think it's amazing that there are so many things one can do with cross stitching that makes it unique and utterly different than the samplers of old. :D

The staining is very realistic! It's very beautifully done, and I know that "aging" fabric can be difficult. You should be very proud.

Kinda cool, and kinda gross at the same time. It's very well done!
