This is what I would do for your screenshot. I cropped out all the words since it would look a bit silly with partial words that make no sense without the rest of them.UsernameNotAvailable wrote:I'd really like to sign up for this!
I've chosen the very first game I ever played, back in grade 4, Oregon Trail!!!
However, I need a bit of help figuring out the pattern creation for this.
I found this screenshot I'd like to use, but when I throw it in PC Stitch, it becomes horribly distorted. Normally I'd just increase the size of the pattern until things look right. I know the pattern is limited to 96x96, so could someone give me a few tips to make this workable? (or should I post this somewhere else?)Thanks!
This is a shot of what the pattern would look like stitched: If you like the looks of it, here is the pattern for you.

In making my pattern I have discovered the inaccuracy of KG Chart's DMC colour selection.

I know you probably already picked, Kareesh, but the first! My favorite was always the bee suit, though.Kareesh wrote:Edit: On that note, which would look best for the Little Nemo square?
Dangit, well, I'll finish up the Mana square I started last year, keep it for next, and start on a different game.Eliste wrote:Right. I am finishing the Secret of Mana one I started ages ago this year. For Sure. For SURE.
I say to heck with hesitation! We will not let our failures define us! Let's do it!!! Exclamation points!!!!!!!!!!QueenBex wrote:What say you?

I feel your pain, folks. When I first started out, I hit a color that looked brown on the screen...it was definitely green in reality. So now I quite painstakingly "color match" by take the skein it suggests and placing against the pixels on my screen to see if it is really the right color. If it isn't close or completely wrong, I select something that looks closer from my big box o'skeins. This makes my pattern making that much more annoying (for that Mana square I had like 40 colors) but saves time in the long run.kryssiecat wrote:In making my pattern I have discovered the inaccuracy of KG Chart's DMC colour selection.
Also, I love Ridley and that will be glorious!
Now, back to the drawing board on a game to pick....decisions, decisions.

Re: Stitching for Charity 2015
Making a pattern pixel by pixel is a giant pain in the butt. I wish there were more/better screenshots of Startropics. Anywho, I spent 4 hours tonight making my pattern. Here's what I've got:
I'm not done, yet. Still need to get Mike in there, but I decided to give my eyes a rest and I'll work on that tomorrow.

Re: Stitching for Charity 2015
I always pick the color in KG Chart that looks closest to the picture I am making a pattern off of. Then select my threads and compare those to the picture I made the pattern off of and cross out/write in the correct colors. May not be the best solution, but it works for me.BooChocoBoom wrote:Lalina wrote:I am going to attempt to make Ridley from Super Metroid again.
