Afternoon
I am looking to do my bf a cross stitch. I have no idea what to do though.
He loves ff7, transformers, football (liverpool), and most things geeky.
I really dont know what he would like as I am not a fan of any of them. Can anyone suggest something that a fan would get... if that makes sense?

Re: Ideas
First you have to narrow down what you want to do. You have a lot of options of things he likes, but that doesn't really give you a good place to start because its so general. Pick one and find out about it. You need to do some research here yourself first before you decide what to make- for instance, there are two sides in Transformers and you need to figure out which side he prefers or do both or pick something else so its something he really likes. Only you can do this research, because you're the one who knows him.
Secondly, if you want to do a cross stitch, have you figured out how you want to present it? Would you like to put it in a frame (the easiest option imo) or put it on a tshirt or something else? This kind of depends on your skill with cross stitching, as if you've never cross stitched before, I suggest doing a "normal" cross stitch that uses Aida before you plunge into something using waste canvas. Fans will get just about anything as long as its in the right fandom/correct art/etc.
Lastly, what do YOU want to do? I've found that I have a hard time finishing a project if I'm not "into it" in some way. Even something for someone else, if I dont like it, I find difficult to finish. So you need to find something that you enjoy because you will be spending a LOT of time doing it and you don't want it to be torture for yourself.

Re: Ideas
I have crossed stitched before so that isnt a problem
I was thinking of something like a picture that he can put on the wall or a set of coasters.
I like the idea of FF7 sprites but I know nothing about the game (something that he is shocked and horrified about, being a gamer myself). I dont know who the "cool" characters are or anything like that so I would need help there. All I know about FF7 is there is a massive sword and a yellow bird

Re: Ideas
My personal favorites from FF7 are Cloud (yellow spiky hair with big sword) and Sephiroth (long white/silver hair with a loooong sword). Depending on your skill level, I would find a good picture with them both in it and make a picture. Or you could find chibi versions of each of the characters from FF7 and put them on coasters along with some random characters, such as a moogle or a chocobo. And if you're not sure on how to make a pattern we would be glad to help you out.
