Star Trek Book!

Post by johloh »

I should be signing a contract in the next week to write a star trek cross stitch book!

I am putting a call out to all of you guys to see who would be interested in helping out with stitching/designing some of the projects in the book. I'm looking for help in two areas...

1. patterns or ideas for patterns. obviously cross stitch and star trek themed. this book will be officially licensed so anything is fair game for the patterns. anyone who contributes a pattern or an idea for a pattern will get credit in the published book. We're looking for ideas that are clever, funny, inside star trek jokes, etc.... These need to be done in the next week as my outline is due soon. Done by July 1st to be exact. (also I've already made about 15 patterns, so if you come up with an idea I already have ill let you know, dont worry im not trying to steal ideas here). If you make a pattern or have an idea go ahead and PM me instead of posting it in the public forums.

2. looking for people to stitch up patterns. Either 1 big one, or 2 small patterns (or more if youre really want to). These people will get credit in the book as well as a free book once it is published. The deadlines on these will be pretty strict, so you might need to be willing to drop your current project and knock one out in decent time.

Let me know if you're interested in getting involved with this project, I'm really excited!

When would you have to have the cross stitch stitched up? Do you think there will be any other themed cross stitch books?

What an amazing opportunity!

I wish you a ton of success in this endeavor, and I cannot wait to see your finished project! I am an avid Trekker, and have dreamed of seeing more ST patterns. I am very new to cross stitching, and still a complete neophyte to designing anything but the most basic of patterns, so I doubt I can be of any practical assistance to you. But, if I brainstorm any ideas, I will be certain to drop you a line. Best of luck!

I'm interested in either, or both! I'll get thinking on patterns; let me know when you have more details on stitching.

Sign me up to stitch a couple small ones, at the very least. I'll see if I can't get a pattern going, too. :)

Its going to have to be quick. once patterns are assigned it will probably be a timetable of about 4-6 weeks to finish your assigned project.

I'm working on a sprite stitch book proposal now too (all crafts, not just xstitch), but that is way farther out right now.

I'm starting a list on the first post, two sign ups...thanks rmdc and funky!

So happy for you!

This is awesome. Congratulations! I don't think I can sign up to stitch anything as I am still working on a square for the charity quilt but I can brainstorm ideas/try to knock out some patterns.

How do you want us to submit ideas/patterns? email? (the board wouldn't really work since they are public here, right?)

I would be more than happy to stitch some for you! What's the biggest pattern you would need stitched?
