An old friend of mine is giving birth to her third child this week, her first daughter. I made this for her as a gift:

I'm really happy about how it came out! I was following a couple of different sprites I saw online but it didn't have any shading and it was my first time picking the colors myself since it was just eyeballing sprite images.

Yeah, shading was total trial and error using random colors I had laying around from other Mario-related pieces, like the middle shade of the blue one is DMC 3843, the infamous water color from a lot of Mario 3 and Super Mario World patterns

Oh my goodness, this is so cute! I love, love, love it! I seriously need to learn to cross stitch so I can make loads of adorable Yoshis.

You know, a while back some of us were talking about making a master list of DMC colors for some of the common characters (Mario, Yoshi, Black Mage, etc.) who crop up in dozens of patterns. If you'll share the colors you used, I'll get started on the list and draw up a Yoshi section.
