Lol! This is pretty much how I feel exactly.Eliste wrote:I really liked the episode, and I really liked Capaldi. I think there is great potential there, and I'm looking forward to really different interactions and storylines for this very different doctor. Tbh, I was fairly confident I would like him, as I was of the opinion that it would be difficult to be worse than Matt Smith who I fairly detested. So far, I'm optimistic and am looking forward to this new incarnation.MeiTow wrote: What did you think of the new Doctor (use spoiler tags or try not to put in spoilers if you can for those that haven't seen it)?

I watched it last night, and thought he was pretty good. Obviously it'll take time for him to settle into the role, but I'm looking forward to seeing how he progresses.

Honestly, for me, Capaldi is one of the quickest Doctors to grow on me. Maybe it was his acting, maybe it was the storyline between him and Clara, but for some reason, by the time I left the theater, I was all like "Yes, he is the Doctor". I'm super excited to see how the season progresses.

I'm so...HAPPY!...to see that I'm not the only one who really hated Matt Smith lol I haven't had a chance to watch the new episode yet, but I'm hoping to sometime this weekend.

I actually think Smith did a fantastic job. It's Steven Moffat who gets my goat. #11 would have been wonderful under Davies - let alone the writers for any of the first five Doctors.
My partner and I have been catching up on Korra lately! We're only three episodes into Book 3, but after a rough first episode necessitated by the strange place they left Book 2, I'm enjoying this season immensely. Maybe we'll finally get the Zuko + Katara pairing I've always dreamed of ~~~

Right now my favorite thing that we are watching is Outlander. I read the book ages ago, and was pretty excited for the tv version coming out, but its actually better than I anticipated. Love, love, love it so far, in spite of the occasional change. I think they've done it really cleverly, and really captured the feel of both the book and the time period.

I'm currently being made to watch season 2 of The Wire. Partner loves it, I'm not fussed about it. We're also watching Doctor Who, and will be starting the second season of Under the Dome soon. I've also got The 100 on record to watch at some point - anyone been watching that?

Re: What are you watching now and why?
Whilst being at Mums, we've been watching a lot of decorating shows, and some new American shows have been added to the list including Kitchen Cousins, Flip.. something or other, I can't recall... they buy a house and renovate it in like 7 days and resell it at a profit.
But there's also a brand new series of Grand Designs back on. Paul o Grady's For the Love of Dogs is back on! And we also watch Great British Bake Off (no spoilers please! We record it and watch when we can). As I am staying with mum for a bit to help with her garden, I am indulging in TV (when I'm not working of course!), she's always amused at my reaction to adverts (as I don't have TV at mine), I like to guess what they are about

Right now when i have an internet connection (Usually at work on my breaks on my phone) i'm watching the US version of Qu eer as Folk. I've started to watch it several times yet I never make it to the end. When i'm at home i usually watch whats on this channel called ion television (One of 5 channels to choose from and 2 of them are Shopping Networks). so Monday and tuesday's are Criminal Minds, Wednesday is Cold Case, Thursday is Leverage, Friday is Cold Case, and Saturday is Law & Order: Criminal Intent. I cant wait to have cable and internet back :s
