Shining Force Action Scene Pattern Request

Post by justinjtp »

Hello again everyone! The above picture is what I would like a pattern for...I have a few requests for this pattern, and another request at the bottom of the page.

For this pattern, I would like it to be 14 or 18 count Aida cloth, and about 24" wide. The height doesn't really matter, I would just like it to look as detailed as possible without being incredibly huge (I'd like to finish it in this lifetime, lol). The amount of colors I would like to keep at a reasonable amount; I'm not sure how many would look good so just what you think would be reasonable but look good. Also if you could do it for the KG program that'd be cool.

My last question would be to tell me how I can do this on my own. My girlfriend and I figured out how to use GIMP and KG stitch to convert a picture into a pattern, but every time we do, the pattern on KG comes out looking blurry. Is this normal? What we have figured out is to take the size we want the stitch (say 24 inches), multiply it be the count (say 14), and the product of that is what we would put in for, say, the width. Is that how we do it successfully? If so, do they all come out looking blurry in the KG program?

Thank you in advance...I would love some advice on converting pictures to patterns if you have any, and if you could complete that pattern request I would be eternally grateful!

I was going to make the pattern for you, but then I found out what your problem with the blur is.

The image you have isn't a "clean" image. If you look at the blue of the HP bars, you can see that there are many different colours of blue in it. That's called burn. The original game won't be like that. If you can sort out the burn, then you won't get it being blurry.
Try saving the image as a .png, instead of a .jpg (which I think it is now?) that should sort out the problem for you. If you post that image up I'll be happy to make the pattern for you. Did you want all the black around the edge, or do you want me to cut it down a bit so its even all around?

Yo! For I have done as you asked!
Although you did say you wanted it 24 inches. Well I tried that, but for an image with pixels like this one, it doesn't come out very well. So I just used the original dimensions, which makes it 18.2 inches wide. There are 34 colours, and it's not blurry :D
I wasn't sure if you wanted a pdf or in KG Chart form, so I did both. Any problems, message me.
Oh! And the way you described you making patterns was right. Just remember to use .bmp or .png formats, and don't exceed the original dimensions too much :D
