um daft question but why can't you use DMC? most stitchy shops in the uk sell DMC, I know hobbycraft certainly does.

Havent got a Hoobycraft near enough for me to go to....eBay is the way forward! The only problem with that though is sellers like having the anchor skeins in stock!! Its usually not that much of a problem, but they only had a certain amount of colours in! But wont be making the same mistake agian!! Lol!

Ive got a week away from my cross stitch at the moment!! ~But I have been knitting dog blankets with my nan! Hehe!

I live in Durham and there aren't any craft shops left in the area, so I've been using ebay for the last few years, and I find DMC threads *really* easy (and reasonably cheap!) to get ahold of, having said that I do search for DMC rather than Anchor threads :D

...

You people blow me away...

Hello! i am new, found your (brilliant) site in the last couple of days. My Girlfriend has got me into cross-stitch and I'm so happy to find that the link between pixels and stitches has been made!

I have only done a few cross-stitch since Christmas - mainly lettering, slogans and one green monster.

I know i'm mad but i'm ready for a biggun - couldn't decide between MT Punch-out or THIS EPIC Pokemon.

I stayed up way into the night last night reading this thread and i am determined to have a crack at this one (mad i know). Going to download the pattern now and.....just try and figure it out!

How do people just jump about the aida doing all one colour?! what if you were wrong?! My "plan" is to start in a corner.

I need to learn patience this year btw. :secret

Anyways - sorry if this is in the wrong place - i just wanted to say that you inspire me and i hope to one day post a WIP pic myself.

Keep on keeping on - you are brilliant. x

I actually find it easier to have the difficult job of lots of counting for the first colour (usually 310........it's always 310 :cray: ), and then use this as a guideline for the next colours and/or fills, but that may just be me. ANd what if you get it wrong? Lots and lots of unpicking :banghead: Welcome to the forums btw :D
