I could definitely use a forum like that. I have already set up trades with two people already here. It could be a "trade" section and you could request or put up things you already have to trade.

yes.purcell_a05 wrote:That would be cool to have a trade/barter/marketplace area. Would it be more like a craft swap or a request board?

Re: what does the forum need?
any new ideas for the blog, forums, anything else?
I have some extra time now that its summer, and I'd love to add to the site...trouble is I can't think of much else to add to make it a better experience...
anybody think of anything? maybe a chat room or something? more ranks to attain?

Chat room could be fun, and it's pretty easy to add one to phpbb. It could be a good resource for bouncing stitching ideas quickly off of other online members, or getting a quick tip. (Although I suppose you could always do that on the forums...).
Don't have any ideas for new blog/forum topic stuff.

Re: what does the forum need?
edit: only now do i see that this has 11 pages... so kind of a late response (do'h!)
If you are interested in a good PbP site check out Mythweavers. My group moved from a popular web comic forum to there almost a year ago and I have no complaints. Lots of nice built in funcionalilty that would be out of place on the SSB
I've been playing these for years on other forums but I would suggest NOT implementing them here. There's a lot of supplemental "tools" that PbP (Play by Post) needs that don't really belong here. Though I think advertising game recruitment on this board is just fine.Icedevimon13 wrote:Forum RPGs - A section for role plays. I've only joined my first one recently, and I haven't gotten the hang of it yet, but these are very popular on many forums. I'm not sure how interested users here would be though.

Re: what does the forum need?
I agree with this, because although posting on the forums for help is great (so other people can use the information too), sometimes waiting for a response is a bit of a pain lol. Especially if it's something small like washing cross stitches, ironing advice for perlers or something similar.FouFou wrote:Chat room could be fun, and it's pretty easy to add one to phpbb. Either that, or have something like the Epic Patterns List which Servo wrote up for the patterns topic. My logic: why write another question on a topic when it's already there? (I know there's a search bar lol, but it could be useful
I think that's the end of my opinion? lol.

We already have an introduction thread. It's sticked at the top of this section.

Re: what does the forum need?
I've noticed a lot of non-gaming related pattern requests lately, should we have another request section for them?
