DMC COLOUR TO NUMBER PLEASE HELP ME

i have some cotton with the colour but not the number and i obviously need the numbers if you can help id be greatfull

VIOLET

L VIOLET

MINT GREEN

GREEN

L GREEN

ORANGE

L ORNAGE

PLEASE HELP AS MUCH AS YOU CAN

IVE TRIED WEB SITES AND YAHOO ANSWERS BUT NOT MUCH HELP

I didn't know DMC made floss with just the name on it. I should look for that.

maybe she is trying to substitute another manufacture for DMC colors in a pattern? Even the DMC thread my mother used in the 70s only ever had numbers on it (besides "ecru").
