Finding Out Your Stitching is Wrong.
Ugh. I hope this goes in this forum. I'm unsure, so if it needs to be deleted or moved, yeah, I'll be ok with it.
After doing some bigger cross stitching projects, I wanted to do something small. Go figure, I start a tiny peice and I've already messed it up! I know some of you take out what you've messed up, but what are other options? I'm too far to the right a row, and I'm so mad. T.T I don't want to rip out the stitches or restart it (which I've already done). What are some other options to do to fix it? Thanks in advance, guys. <3

On my Chrono Catter (which i love the name...ty Servo!) I found a few spots in the middle of a thread that i've messed up...so I used one side of a pair of scissors.... and the needle and sawed my way through that stitch... pulled out enough to secure it...then redid that area. It took alittle bit, but that way I didnt have to pull out a whole set that I've done.
Hope that helps!

I pretty much use the same method as nyami.
Cut roughly the middle of the mistake (depending on size, I guess), then restitch it while anchoring the loose ends you cut.
This is the only way to keep the piece neat, I wouldn't recommend going over it with a different colour.

I third what they are saying. I've done this a few times. It takes ages but it beats doing it ALL again. Good luck with your piece.

Thanks alot, you guys!
I was really hoping there would be another way than to cut everything! I'll definitely try this.

I work off patterns on my computer and if I find I'm out a little but it's too far along to unpick, sometimes I change the pattern. If you think it looks fine, why not alter your pattern to reflect your mistake and work with it instead of against it
Fish, fish, my only wish!

Yeah, your options are change the pattern or unstitch. Usually I just bite the bullet and unstitch what I've done because when I notice I have a issue it's usually too late lol. It's especially infuriating when you're doing a larger project. But if you really want it to look good you got to put the time into unstitching in my opinion.

I've pretty much have made at least one mistake on every project i do and it infuriates me sometimes.
I usually just end up ripping it out or go over it with the right color. It really just depends on the project and the mistake I made.
But yea always just have to make a judgement call on everyone ya make.

My mom laughs at me when I get frustrated over making mistakes that she claims only I will notice because they are so minute. It's like having an itch that just wont go away until you scratch it!
I agree about the sawing with scissors and resecuring the ends back down though. Be careful that you watch what's being cut though.

Re: Finding Out Your Stitching is Wrong.
i cant count how many times had to unpick stitches in my ranma cross stitch! i did the sawing method which worked perfectly, although i was a little nervous the it would come loose so then stitched over the top of the secured piece (it makes sense to me :p) Glad i'm not the only one that gets really frustrated by it- my boyfriend thinks it's soooooo easy to fix......he has never had to unstitch 4 hours work because of a miscount!
