Photoshop Color Matching

Post by red_scout »

Hello! I'm fairly new at this game...only done like 3 projects. Anyway with my last project, I had a very hard time with matching colors. I ended up making a massive color swatch on Photoshop Elements from each of DMC's colors. Now I'm not sure what to do with it. In an ideal world, I'd have the color selector tool only be able to choose colors from that swatch. Is there any way to do this?

Instead of using photoshop to draw your patterns, you could download the free KG-chart. It may let you specify a palette (I know PC-Stitch does). Within photoshop, I'm not sure if you could do that. Maybe if you saved it as a GIF, it would save the colors used in that picture, and you could draw new ones from that file?

I have NO idea how Photoshop Elements works, but in the full version of Photoshop you can "paint" with colors in a pallet but I do not know of a way to restrict an image to the pallet colors.
