How many strands of floss do you use on 14 ct aida?

2 for cross
3 for half
1 for back stitch

that's what i've gotten comfortable with anyway =)

For 14, I always use 3 strands for cross stitch. It gives it a nice look I think.

I guess 3 strands would make the crosses thicker, yes. Never tried it though :cool:

I find it depends whether you want a × look or a ■ look. I decided for pixel craft (all the sprites etc) that a ■ look was more what I wanted, to look like a full square with no fabric showing, but the cross is an interesting feature and certainly something you can experiment with.

Maybe you could try varying it with different parts of the pattern... Like you do with half-stitch in some places, put some 2-strand in some and 3-strand in others.
