Stripes in pattern

Post by blooddha »

I'm working on the Epic Mario cross stitch project,
Here is what i did so far :

And a little close up :

As you can notice, we can see some stripes, this is because i did not cross the same way everywhere. Any idea how i could make those stripes less visible ? I really hate them ><
I really want to get ride of them ><

To be honest, the stripes aren't really that noticeable.
What might have happened is you went into a previous stitch when you came down.
What type of needle are you using?
I always use a tapestry needle or one that has a blunt end.
That way the needle doesn't pierce previous stitches and goes in smoothly.
I'm not sure what you can do now though...
Maybe tighten the stitches from behind?

Its not too terribly noticeable in the photograph, might be worse in real life though.

only thing I can think is to cut away the stitches...no other way to "fix" it.

This is definitely the suckiest thing about stitching a row in another direction... If I find I've done this, I usually unpick and do it over. If the stripe is bugging you now and you're anything like me, it's worth getting rid of ASAP or it will annoy you for all eternity and diminish your enjoyment of the finished project.
Fish, fish, my only wish!
