Sprite Stitch Board!

Here we go...an easy one!

Ive started knitting 1inch x 1inch squares in mostly black and yellow...I want to make a Pikachu blanket for my little cousin for christmas! But I dont want it to be huge (which some of the patterns Ive found are...)

I have been doing a pattern like this...

But its going to take ages and be massive!

Does anyone have any smaller patterns? even if its just for the head? Its been really hard to find any I like!! Preferably with a smiley face!!

Why just knit half inch squares of the same pattern? Would make it smaller, and not take so long.

That would have been a better idea, but I've started now...70 squares in! Lol! >.<
