I'm working on stitching this out, and just finished my version of the pattern based on a .gif map that's considered 'official.'

I worked it from 75 to 25 colors, so I hope it doesn't look too newb-ish. If you have any suggestions for improvement, let me know! Once I really get started, I'll do a WIP post. Let me know if you want a .pdf version!

Ooh, another thing I was planning to do! Can never have enough Elder Scrolls in my opinion.

It looks quite good for being reduced so much (you wouldn't think the map had so many colours in it!). Although some places seem to have lost their colours a bit!
What do you plan to do for the names? This was my main problem when I started making my pattern for it. I mean, most of the province names are readable, but you can't make out the capital cities and the towns and stuff. Or is that just a problem for me?

Oh no, it's an issue for me as well (the names). Even the bigger ones are giving me trouble. I was considering either doing a full on edit when I erase any city and name, or just keep the dots and not the names. Right now the pattern has them as illegible names that look close enough to seem like a real map, just a small one, lol.

There IS one more option that I'm toying with, which is a MAJOR edit of the maps to one color per area with mountains and cities in black. That is going to be my weekend project, I think (besides homework, lol), so I will post it on this topic so anyone can choose and play with them. I have done font edits for other patterns, so I think I can copy it well. I shall keep you posted!

P.S. What do you think of adding a sea monster in the ocean? Maybe a type of in-game monster? (I do love mudcrabs).

I wonder if it's possible to backstitch the names in over cross stitched colours? I'm not sure. I'm not that good at font edits so I await your attempt!

Mudcrabs! Slaughterfish! Dreugh! Oh god, Dreugh. The Daggerfall / Morrowind types with the octopus legs. In fact I think they are described somewhere as an ancient sea monster (before they went all land crab in Oblivion!)
Might look cool, give em a try and see how it looks!

Ah, Blackmageheart! Great minds think alike! The in-progress version IS using backstitch style font. And I agree; the Morrowind Dreugh are the first ones I ever saw, and shall be canon for always! Will have to work that in, I think...

Progress update: Half-way through the basic editing. Still have names and such to go, though. But like I said, that's what a weekend is for!

I love the pattern! I think it'll look great with backstitching font. I can't wait to see the finished product :)

Could you maybe post the pattern as a pdf?
