I'm currently working on this
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5210 so whenever it's done I'll start the dk one!
I'm definitely not doing all the black stitches. I think it would look better to just use black fabric. If you do all the black stitches you will probably still see some of the white fabric so it might look "cleaner" with black fabric, if that makes sense. It will also go a lot faster because the whole pattern is like 17 pages long haha

I wouldn't stitch the black stitches either
so, "courage" for your mario world map, it's so huge... but you've already done a great part !
