Mother's Day

Post by QueenBex »

OMG my first pattern!!!!! How did I do?

Did I do it right? Does it make sense? I feel like a little kid rushing home to show my Mum something I made at school!!

I just have to stitch it now! Not long to go for UK Mothers day!

Aww, it's very sweet. I like the colours, too. And I think it's great for your first pattern, Bex! :yahoo:

Now, some little helps for you. Nothing huge! And please don't take it as criticism, because it's not. OK? OK? OK. :D
The edges of the words and the bird OMG EARWORM AHHHHHH
....

As I was saying, the edges of the text and the...avialan. They look like you've used a jpg and so are what a lot of people describe as fuzzy. Dead easy to clean up though, just ever so slightly time consuming. Then again, could actually look nice with a bit of variance on the edges! Entirely up to you what you do with it, of course.

The other thing is, and forgive me if this was deliberate on your part, that it is rather large in terms of # of stitches. When is Mother's Day, anyway? Oh, March 30th. Well it is totally possible and in fact not even that difficult to do in a month but if you are wanting...shall we say less of a challenge? then it'd probably be best to just shrink it down a little bit. And with the shrinkage you get the fuzzage, but it's not a problem for us SSers!

:D thanks for the advice!!

I just had another go and got it down to 930 stitches and 4 colours and cleaned it up a bit. Not perfect but I'm pretty happy with it!

I'm back at home so I can't share the revised one until I get internet again :p
