Simple Hearthstone

Post by rbaron »

This is a very simple pattern I drew up because I want to make a small keychain for my fiance with it. (I know it's a bit cheesy lol)

But...I dunno. It doesn't look...complete to me. Or maybe I'm just too critical. Anyone have suggestions?

The shape looks fine. I would make the swirl a slightly brighter blue rather than green blue. And I don't think this is cheesy one bit. I am sure your significant other will love it.

I think it looks great. Maybe the swirl would stand out (or rather, looked carved in) more if it had backstitching in a slightly different blue on one edge?

I like it! I agree with RMDC that it may look good with backstitching, I would backstitch just one side of the symbol (1 edge so it looks like shading if that makes sense). Also I would use blue glow-in-the dark blending filament for the symbol!

That's an awesome idea! I happen to have some blue glow in the dark filament :)

Thanks. I like this idea too!

I'm thinking plastic canvas. I've heard modge podge is good to keep it clean and sturdy. Correct?

Also thanks so much, guys!

Here it is with edits (other than the glow effect, of course)

It's a bit different than the original pattern... And this was the first time I've worked with plastic canvas.
