8-Bit Wreath Pattern

Post by Hithlain »

I really loved the 8-Bit wreath that was being sold by ThinkGeek this past christmas, but I couldn't help but be sad that the video games featured on it weren't my favorite and that there were other sprites I would have liked to use...

Well, here's a solution!

I tried to reconstruct the wreath from pictures as much as possible, but it's difficult to say what it actually looks like under all the sprites, due to the fact that they distort the basic profile. This is as far as I've gotten and I'm rather satisfied with the outcome, I hope you are too! Feel free to decorate with christmas marios and giant OBJECTIONS, and all those other things that get you in the holiday mood!

This wreath is 13 x 16 inches, but that can be tailored in and out depending on the sprites you put in. There is a light black outline around the outside you can use or discard as you wish, it just helped me visually to see the circle.

Enjoy!

That is a super great idea! I too liked the wreath but didn't like how "plasticy" it was. Doing this as a needle-work project on plastic canvas would be a lot of fun :)

Hello!
This is such a great idea. I was wondering if anybody could alter the pattern to include the 'ornaments'? I have zero skills in making patterns, and so it would be disastrous if I tried to put my own sprites in.

Crazy thought. Can you remove the bow so we have just the wreath?

I saw this and thought that it would be great if you could take the bow off so that it can be stitched in other colors and put on for different seasons. Also, you can pick whatever sprites you want to add on with a pair of magnets or velcro or whatever.

I saw your reply and took the bow out for you.

Ah! Thank you. You're right, this would be a great wreath for other seasons... I didn't think about that. Thanks for removing the bow!
