Well, I won't be Stitching for a while...

Hey wonderful Stitch Mates!

This last week I was helping a friend move out to her new house by helping clean the last of her dishes before packing them. Smart me, I was cleaning the inside of a glass and it broke. I heard a pop and a splash as the glass hit the soapy water. I found out i had cut the top of my right index finger! Well sparing any bloody details...and 7 hours in the waiting room, found out i severed a tendon for my finger.

They've got me up in a temp splint till i go thru my primary doctor (monday) and get a referral to talk to a hand specialist (which i talked to at the ER) to schedule a surgery. And from what I know so far is I'll have a splint on for a month or two and have a very -fun- rehabilitation period after. So in the mean time, I have to learn to do everything with my not-dormant hand and do it with my 1 hand only. Which so far that means I cant do stitching. And all of this was typed with one hand so forgive my wonderful spelling and grammatical errors!

I'll keep you guys posted and hopefully I'll return to the stitching world soon!

well nothing too gory, but i do have a few of the doc doing the 4 sitches i got. got a closeup of the cut..no blood but all the red is the inside of my hand..thry said a fraction more and i would have took a chunk of skin off my knuckle. it looks like a crescent moon imo

gore-y goodness click at your own risk! ps:the first pic is me b4 being seen so the wrap is small...now is my whole forearm =(

the skin right on the knuckle could be pulled up and away from the knuckle, it was attached by a small thread of skin still

ewwww......i looked at the pics.....anyways....i hope you have a speedy recovery. I dont know what i would ever do without the use of my hands with all the crafts i like to do. you could always start doing perler beads...only really need one hand for that.

Gyaaaah! I don't know why I looked, but that looks awful! I hope it heals fast!

Guh. Nice of the doctors to spend so much time getting 'referals' for you to talk to the one you need. :/

Tried to upload a pic to my email of my stitches before the surgery....but i got a 'messages with enhancedfeatures cannot be sent to email' error from verizon.ah well.

just thought i'd keep ya'll updated!

6 weeks!!! I'm glad you got paid, that's a small blessing. I think your going to be making lots of things with perlers in these 6 weeks! What are you thinking of making first???
