I'm interested in starting my own blog. I've got a little one on myspace but it won't allow pictures and quite frankly, I don't think it will get much exposure there!!
Can someone please recommend a good place to set one up. Detailing pros and cons, special features and such. Somewhere were people will actually look at my geeky crafts and maybe comment on them.
I'm not sure I'm interesting enough to blog but I'll give it a go anyway

I like wordpress.com as a starting blog site. it has a good community and you'll get hits from the community as you get started. another advantage is of course its free.
downside is it isnt super customizable, but if you like blogging and buy your own server space, then you can customize and put ads on it, and you can import all your old material.
you can see my first site here -
http://spritestitch.wordpress.com/
then I enjoyed blogging, got some good hits, and decided to buy up
http://www.spritestitch.com, which as you can see is much more complicated with links, ads, sizing, etc. and expensive of course.

I don't mind not customizing so much. I like that idea very much as I liked the set up you had when it was just a blog (I've been a fan of your site for THAT long!!). I don't know if I get the viewings that you get. Might be down to the name I'll use for it. What do you think I should maybe use? I'm going to be posting my own stuff which is VG and Non VG craft. Also I'm going to just raffle on a lot, me thinks!! I dunno yet, it will morph into what it wants. The name will be key.

My partner has been saying that freewebs are good. I'm not sure which route to go now. Blog or freeweb?? So far three choices have been mentioned. Wordpress, freeweb and Blogger.
I shall have a proper look at all three and see what the pros and cons are. Basically see what I like. If anyone has any other sites they wish me to try, please let me know. I'm not going to rush setting one up. I shall give myself a few weeks before setting one up I think.

That's a good plan, I think. I made the mistake of starting a wordpress blog, and I didn't jive with the way it was set up so I never updated. I fit much better with blogger, but I found that out much, MUCH later, and missed out on a whole lot of blogging because of it.

I'm finding that with myspace, I've only blogged 3 times on it. I don't like it cause I can't put pictures on and now I can't work out how to delete the account.
