Yes. That would be so awesome. Lots of people here have great original patterns and designs, and not everyone just cross stitches, it would be really cool to get a craft swap going :).

I would love to do a swap a little bit later.

I need to finish some stuff for my current swaps first, though.

I would absolutely LOVE a craft swap! I can't knit or crochet or quilt and really, really would like something done for my boyfriends birthday. I have made him so many perler and cross stitching projects that it is getting a bit much.

Yeah, what exactly is a craft swap? At least I'm not the only one. LOL

I used to do craft swaps in France, and it was fun ! However, I'm out of range of the US post service (at least, at normal costs).

Again, two types of swaps:

- person-to-person: eveyone answer a small questionnaire about what they like and hate. Then, everybody is assigned to somebody else, and creates something for a precise person, with his/her own taste. Tnitnetny can ask for crochet !

- random craft swap: everyone makes the same item, nine times if there are ten persons in the swap. You are allowed variations, of course ! Then, someone (Hi, Johloh !) recieves all of those items, and dispatches them into new packages, so that everyone gets one item from everybody else (gosh, am I having trouble explaining this in English, sorry). That way, you get something from everyone, but it's not as personnal. The trouble also lies with double postage costs: one for sending everything to the master of the Swap (that's a great title !), one for him to send the dispatched items back.

Anyway, it's also fun !

good explanation loora...

i was thinking person to person...answer a questionnaire like top 3 favorite games, crafts you do, crafts you would like to receive kinda deal...then you pair people up, and make something based on their tastes and send it out by the deadline...

Something you may want to think about Johloh is instead of the contest, maybe do the craft exchange, or the stitch along. That way we could even do both. Have the May/June the craft swap, the July/Aug a contest, the Sept/Oct a stitch along, etc, etc. It may fill in the gaps for when you run out of ideas for contests.

I'm all for the idea of a craft swap. I just feel like whoever got stuck with me would be getting the short end of the stick.
OMG! The possibility of someone making me something moogle.... /sigh a dream come true. :D
