I'm thinking of something I'd like to stitch onto my laptop bag. I plan on covering the ENTIRE bag over some time, but I'm not sure what I want to cover it with.
Some ideas are representations from:
All different NES games
All different SNES games
Different characters from a specific game
A mix of characters from my favorite games
I'm not exactly sure what I want to do, so I'm looking for input.
You guys can also post your project ideas here.

Re: Project Ideas
this is the correct section...projects I want to be either works in progress or completed projects...
as far as Ideas...I think it would be cool to line a laptop bag with all your favorite nes characters...from my experience the majority of the sprites are pretty similar sized, so it might be able to fit together into a cohesive piece...
If youre looking for bigger sprites you could do a collection of bosses, those are often quite large, but aren't very uniform, so it might be quite a bit harder to make it look good as a set.
If you want to choose from one game id say megaman is a good one (if you like it of course) because you have A TON of different bosses to choose from...

Re: Project Ideas

This is the front of the bag - the part I plan on stitching up first. It's divided into two sections.
The top 'grid' is larger than the bottom, so right now I'm leaning towards throwing NES characters in that part, since MOST of them, as I discovered when researching for Art class last year, are 16x16 pixels.
The bottom part has a 'smaller' grid, so maybe I'll do simple characters from SNES games in that section.
Finally, I think maybe I'll do items along the straps

Re: Project Ideas
That would be awesome to stitch on... Now I might have to find a way to stitch on my bag too, since I have a few small patterns I've been wanting to do.

Re: Project Ideas
I think I need to get one of those metal things to push the needle through like the one user did with the guitar strap, because it's really thick material lol. *makes note to pick one up next time a visit to the craft store rolls around*

Re: Project Ideas
yeah, I got some crazy calluses last time I tried sewing through tough fabric. I have a couple of long thick needles from my sister-in-law that I might try too (what are those for anyway?).
