Sprite Stitch Board!

Hi all,

I find the cross-stitch calculators on the web are good for desktop use, but not when you're out and about looking at patterns in store and you only have your mobile.

So I decided to build my own cross-stitch calculator with the aim of providing an easy to use, mobile-friendly way to calculate the fabric and frame size you need for your projects.

I would love some feedback - does the calculator work for you? would you like to see any changes/additions?

Very cool! Nice site design, too I would like it to go up a bit higher, maybe add 28 and 32? for us crazies that stitch over one on that count fabric.

Maybe even add a radio button for over 1 or over 2?

The extra fabric and standard frame size are really handy options.

I like it but I see a flaw in your frame size. It sets the frame size somewhere between your total fabric size and design size. In my opinion the frame size should be based on design size. Especially since I tend to use minimal amounts of extra fabric if it cuts down on cost (I buy most fabric online).

@funkymonkey Thanks I’ve added more count options up to 32, and the “stitched over” radio buttons.

@stitchingmama If you set “extra fabric” to 0, the frame size is your design size, rounded to the nearest inch. I’ve made this clearer by adding a “stitched area” result, and if extra fabric is 0, the total fabric size displays a "same as stitched area" message.
