Re: mobile site up!
YAY! It is sosososo much easier to read the forums on the phone. Buuuuuut...
Device #1: I cannot get the mobile version to stay logged in. After logging in, it takes me to the desktop version of the site (logged in). I click on forums up at the top to get back to the mobile version and am logged out. I browsed a few threads and tried to comment but it said "quick reply needs to be enabled to reply." I'm assuming this would change if I could stay logged in.
Device #2: After logging in, I can't access the mobile site at all; it keeps redirecting me back to the desktop version.
From the site LL linked in the suggestions thread, it seems like this was developed with iDevices in mind (mine are both Android) so I'm not sure if this is the issue or not. I don't know how to check if my browsers support CSS3.

Re: mobile site up!
Nope sorry, they say change is good and in some cases thats very true, but in this case its a 'if it ain't broken don't fix it' situation. Its too fiddly, its a nuiscance, confusing and too many pages to navigate through, plus I don't see the chat box....
I use my mobile a LOT and its usually easier to use, recognisable, familiar as its the same as the main site. And most importantly I can usually read everything just fine... :p
Just my opinion, as long as I can disable it and opt for the normal site, then thats fine, do as you will. Though it seemed to come out of nowhere and no real announcement beforehand unless I missed it? May I asked how this cane about or was it a natural update of the site or something?
I probably missed it if you guys did talk about it...
(ps. I don't want you to misinterpret the tone of this, easy to do with written things, but just to say I ain't angry or anything, just slightly bemused

Re: mobile site up!
@QueenBex: I believe someone asked for this in the request thread.
I personally don't view this site on mobile, just 'cause it's harder for me to navigate. I'll hop on the mobile version sometime this week and see if it's easier or not with the new mobile version. I, too, have an Android so I'll see if the login issue happens for me as well.

Re: mobile site up!
I've been wanting a mobile version for a while so I'm excited.
I don't have time to test it right now - but I'll check it out soon.
Please everyone don't hate it right away just because it's different. It sounds like there are some settings that need to be tweaked...

I'm not sure whats wrong with quick reply...I'll look at it.
If youre on an android phone (i am too) and using the chrome browser (which you should because its the best) and hate the mobile site you can just hit the menu button on your phone and click the "request desktop site" to make it go back to normal.

Re: mobile site up!
ok fixed it. quick reply now works and I can reply on the mobile site, hopefully you can too.
ALSO, at the very bottom of the site when youre on the mobile site is a link that says "disable phpBB mobile" click that and it goes away.

Re: mobile site up!
I support having a mobile version of the site; I never use it on my phone because everything is so small and difficult to navigate.
My only issue with the current mobile version is the feature I use almost exclusively, "View new posts" from the Board Index, isn't on there. Or, I just haven't found it yet. Without that being available, I wouldn't use the mobile version.

I also agree w/ Funky that the "new posts" button is really useful, I'll still use the mobile version without it, bit that's the one I use the most as well (and "Active Topics").
