Just wondering what your average stitch speed is. 100 an hr? 50? Some days I seem to rock it and some days hour's go buy and it seems I barely make a dent.

soooooo..... ?????

I would like to think I'm a little above average. I don't normally count my stitches. I usually stitch from a paper copy of a pattern, so it would be difficult for me to count how many stitches I did.

Depends on the fabric I am using, complexity of the pattern, the number of colour changes and what distractions turn up (eg what TV show I am watching). Looking at some of the small things I have made 60-80 st/h seems reasonable. I am faster on aida than plastic, and on the rare occasion I work small stitches on calico it takes forever.

Hmmmm...... well, now I know what BMH is. I work in the operating room and everything is abbreviated so I had some funny ideas of what that stood for.

that's quite the standard to get to. I also can't seem to stitch as fast on plastic. Interesting.

It really varies for me, mostly based on how much I can focus at the time. I really almost always stitch in the evening after work, often with a little glass of wine at my side, always watching something (lately Doctor Who). I guess I'm setting myself up to be distracted, but some night I really get into the groove and put down a ton of stitches regardless. The biggest factor is how much the dogs decide to be a pain (we have 6, it's a given at least one will have a problem at all times).
I know I'm a lot faster now than I used to be.

I don't think of myself as fast, but that's usually because I'm doing more than just stitching- like watching tv. I get distracted easily which doesn't help either.

I think I fall just at a resting BMH rate

Depends on the project - more so whether I'm interested in the project or if its just a nice piece w/ someone in mind. I tend to put things down when I get bored (and have at least 6 on the go at a time....not factoring in the ones sadly sitting in my WIPs bin).
This weekend though I've finished 2 - one is a 131x105 and the other is a 100x120
Granted I've had nothing to do, and its -45c outside w/ the wind chill.

I usually stich while doing something like watching TV and I don't tend to count my stitches but tonight I think I was at a rate of about 100 an hour BUT it was all one color in a solid block so I was much faster then usual. Usually I spend so much time checking and double and triple checking my pattern that it slows me down a ton. I have to check row by row because my attention span and short term memory are both pretty bad.
I tend to get very discouraged when I make a mistake and have to take out my stitching when I finally notice an hour later and then I end up switching projects or not stitching for awhile, which is why I have so many UFOs laying around and hardly any finished.
