We've been featured in their magazine nintendo power, and I've been invited to nintendo parties, so they probably realize our site is really just a good advertisement for them, and as long as we dont encroach on any way they are making money, they wont care.
That's awesome!!!!!!! That would be the way to go - get Nintendo's permission and then do an all Nintendo cross stitch book - (not like we don't have enough patterns :D )Then you wouldn't have to worry about multiple permissions...

just to let people know...I've been in contact with an editor and have gotten a go ahead to do a proposal for a book. the key word being proposal.

It seems like the copyright issues aren't quite as bad as people and myself previously thought. The key is that it is fine as long as you are reinterpreting something as opposed to directly copying something. There is no fine line though, so its a bit muddy on exactly what is copying and what is reinterpreting. we'll probably stick with projects that are as reinterpretingish as possible. why am I writing a book when im not even using real words?

we're still working out the details right now, but we'll start contacting people about doing projects for the book in the near future.

How about new forum ranks?
I find it a bit odd that I'm at 500, but BMH who is at 1500 is the same rank? There aren't many people with the "Old School Member" rank, but I think it might be nice to have a 750 or 1000 post rank...

I was thinking that same thing the other day. 750 and 1000 are nice milestones for ranks too. :D

Easy enough. Just need new categories. The other option would be to change the values. But new ones would prob be more fun.

Rank 0 - Small Fry 0

Rank 1 - Little Mario 10

Rank 2 - Big Mario 25

Rank 3 - Fire Mario 50

Rank 4 - Raccoon Mario 100

Rank 5 - Frog Mario 150

Rank 6 - Hammer Mario 250

Rank 7 - Tanooki Mario 360

Rank 8 - Old School Member

How about changing tanooki to 350, then have rank 8 as 600, then have a new rank 9 (800) and rank 10 (1000/1200).
that way the rise goes up like so:
10-15-35-50-50-100-100-150-200-200/400
Makes it a nicer rise, without effecting things too much...
Not sure what the names/icons could be though. In the future we're more likely to get higher and higher post numbers, so how about a complete overhall (of names and icons) so we can have something that ever increases? Possibly using something like the mario through the ages, or just a different game for each? Not sure how people would feel about that though...

I'm not sure why 360...I think it was a typo for 350.

If you want to go ever increasing you could do rupees or something. So you can just do 1 rupee, 2 rupee, etc...could be boring though.

Rupees are used for the support icons though...

On that note, you said a while back we needed to jazz them up a little bit... Should I start looking into that?
