Do you want to make a copy of the handbook in Google Docs as well? That way people who may not be able to download it to view can still check it out. https://docs.google.com/
I'd be happy to transfer them over for you, LL! You and BMH are my new forum heroes!

Would we be able to encourage people who post really large images to put them in spoilers? Not all of us have great download speed, or large screens :P

Well it's not actually finished yet, so its not "in distribution". We still aren't sure where to put it when its finished though. If we're making people download it I'll definitely put it in google docs.

That's why I said "forum appropriate size" so they don't post large images. I think it would make it better if someone make a guide on how to make images smaller so we could attach it to the handbook...

Could be an idea to set a standard size to use in forum posts. Also, I'm thinking a series of mini "how-to" guides are probably gonna be in order somewhere down the line (because a lot of people don't seem to know how to resize images, as well as other things that get asked a lot)
Might ask for volunteers to write mini guides...!

Google Docs = good, PDFs = good, because everyone can view these. Like LL says though, it's not done and we don't know where it'll go just yet - still gotta work on that.

Oh well, you got me there. Doesn't want to be TOO small, of course. Personally I resize my pics to 650x488 or something similar, maybe something like that as the maximum size? Means that people with resolutions of 1024x768 and lower can see them easily, and if they are jpg or png then the file size will be relatively small too.

I make mine about 500 wide too.

Ok, so what guides do we need? Might be an idea to put out an announcement to see if people will do one or two...

Those are all possibilities, as well as pattern making, PDF making, image resizing, maybe some FAQs. We don't wanna go nuts on the guides or it'll start turning into a craft guidebook...which is something else we could do separately :P

And I can certainly put out an announcement for volunteers up there ^

All of the ones I listed are already on the website somewhere.
But, craftbook. I'm glad you said that. I've been thinking lately about cross stitch books, after I saw the one johloh was part of in my waterstones. We could totally make one as sprite stitch. Show off our talents, have a how to bit... Might be an idea, that's all. I intend to publish one of my own work at some point, and already have a non-fiction book published, so I'd be more than happy writing it.
Just an idea anyhows. Johloh's decision really...

Yes, I know. But concise versions in one location couldn't hurt...maybe? :D

I've often thought that we could do a craftbook as a group. How you go about doing it though, is beyond me :D
But someone like you could certainly do it! And you know, I just had to google you after you said you've been published. I'm super-impressed! Of course, I always knew you were talented. :D
