Re: Newbie Question

and.....every year for christmas, my family feels the need to buy me crappy kits they find at yard sales....i know im a guy that cross stitches, but i do try to stick to cool stuff at least. The very few kits i get that are cool, i will probably just take the pattern and use my own stuff to make it. I usually save the jumbles floss just in case, a few times i have had women try to attack my floss collection to make bracelets....thus is why i save the jumbled stuff.

I love that unicorn. I have several cool cross stitch kits that I haven't even started yet. I buy them when they are on sale. I have some Disney ones and some of unicorns and a white tiger.

I also, as with most people before, hate the stamped cross-stitch. I have done quite a few of the kits, for various things. The disney kits are usually good and I've found a few others here and there that I like. I also keep the patterns, and use my own threads many of the times.

I mainly do kits, but only counted. I agree that most kits are horrendous, but on occasion I find a nice one, and I try to go for ones that keep me busy for a while. Here's a few...
This one's my favourite, because of the black background. It was a real bitch to make, but the end-result was well worth the effort.

The rider in this one is done in whole stitches, but over one thread of cloth only, so four times smaller than the regular stitches on the dragon.
