What does that mean?

I see often when I'm shopping for cross stitch kits online that it will sometimes say "unfinished cross stitch kit" but advertised as new in the packaging, so what does that mean? When I think of unfinished, I think of a project that someone started and then decided halfway through that they weren't into it anymore lol. Sorry, if this is a dumb question, but I thought I'd ask.

They probably use it to mean that it hasn't been worked on. Often people think they're buying a completed item (like patterns in etsy shops, thinking they're getting the whole thing for a steal of a deal). That's what I would guess if it's been advertised as new in the package. If theres no other details in the items description, I would use your judgement on it (after looking up their reviews, if you're able to).

That's what I was thinking. My husband said that maybe it means that the whole thing isn't stitched. Like if there's a huge chunk of white, maybe the aida is left blank so there's no stitching there. I just wanted to clarify what it meant because the descriptions were in Chinese, so I didn't know lol

This is what I have come to understand, as well. I have purchased quite a few kits that say this, and they were all new kits. I have purchased a couple "finished" items as well that were already stitched and completed.
