Sprite Stitch Board!

Hi, My brother is graduating from college next month and I've been looking for something I can make him. After rejecting dozens of ideas, I would like to make this image for a club he has been very involved in and will no doubt continue to be a part of for some time. It's a very simple design, but I have no idea where to start.

I plan to stitch the white onto a colored aida, so feel free to make a pattern for just that. I'd like to to be no more than 12" long but preferably at least 8" long on either 14 or 18 count, I'd like it to look nice in a frame

Thanks so much for any help, I'd prefer it in .sth format, but I can open anything.

I changed the background colour to give a better idea of what the stitches would look like
Design should be 8" wide on 14ct aida. Feel free to tweak away

This pattern would be 8" x 11" on 18 count Aida.

Do that 18 count one funkymonkey posted, it's much better - has all the little details in!
