Knotwork Ravens

Hi all!
I've been playing around with KGChart with some success, however I can't seem to make this image work no matter what I do to it. Any help would be appreciated. I would prefer the pattern be worked on 14 ct Aida, monochromatic, and around 8x8 inches at the smallest and preferably no larger than 12x12. Unfortunately I cannot site an original artist, this is a picture that's been floating from hard drive to hard drive for about two computers and three years. Thanks for your help! I'll hopefully be posting a few patterns of my own soon.

This is really beautiful, I'd love to see a pattern for this as well!!

Someone else may be able to do it, but I tried and I just couldn't get the knotwork to look good as small as you want it. :sorry:

I think I can get it to look ok, as long as you don't mind a lot of backstitching. I don't have much time to work on it at the moment though, so it will take quite a while before I have a pattern for you. Maybe someone else will be able to get something done sooner :)

Thank you all for your replies and effort. If it makes it easier I could go up to 20x20. I was hoping to keep it a little smaller but if the pattern needs to be bigger for quality's sake, that's fine. Would going down to 18 ct Aida help out any? I'm pretty much crap at back stitching, but I guess this could be good practice. Thank you again!

I really like this, and have been wanting to do some work with curved lines. I'm about a third of the way through it, and I've got something that should be really close, it's going to have half stitches though. I'm running about 8x8 in , about 140x140stitches. I'll post when I finish in a day or two

Thank you for your help and time, I'm looking forward to seeing what you've done. Note to self, look up how to do half-stitches. ^_^ Eventually I'm going to make this for my boyfriend, he's Norse Pagan and I'm stitching up a Thor's Hammer for him and thought the ravens would be a nice companion piece. He's going to be all excited. Heck, I'm excited!

*staggers in, flops into a chair.*

So.
I bit off more than I could chew with this project. AND THEN I CHEWED IT ANYWAY. And now I have a headache.

I've been working on this for days, the ravens look ok, but the knotwork isn't perfect. I'm actually really new to pattern making, even though I've been cross stitching for years. I am mostly satisfied with how it looks right now, if anyone has any suggestions on how I can improve it, I'm thrilled to take them and do this some more --> :banghead: .

In the meantime, I'm going to go lay down.

Oh, P.s., this should be stitched in 1 color, black. It says there's three white stitches in it, and I've looked over it for half an hour and can't find them. If I find them, I'll update the file. --fixed!!

If you want to know where the white stitches are, rightclick white in the list and change the color. To remove it delete the color without even looking for the stitches.

HOLY CRAP THANK YOU! I feel dumb now, but that's ok! I updated the files and resubmitted them, so people will get the correct data.
