Can Someons Please Help Me Trying to make a Pattern

This is my first try at making a pattern and I don't think I'm doing that good of a job at it. I'm working on making a wall hanging of all the Bleach anime Chibis. I couldn't find one for Isshin Kurosaki or Chad. So I was going to try and make Isshin since I need him next. But the pattern that I made looks really bad

I don't want all the stuff in the background. All I'm trying to get is a 14c no bigger then a 45w X 60h count of the guy only.
If anyone could fix the pattern that I've started or could make me one off of the pic that would be great. Or any other help would be great too. I really appreciate you taking your time to read this> thank you
