Shin-Chan+Whitey

Hey there, first post...I'm really new to cross stitching but I LOVE IT! Anyways, I want to make a Shin-Chan+Whitey cross stitch for my boyfriend...I can't find anything of the sort on the net. I really like this picture:

Again, since I'm really new (I've only done one cross stitch, two days ago, before that it was about 10 years haha) so if possible, I'd like the colors to be limited, and on a 14-18 counts aida cloth. Thanks!!

So I thought I would give this a go. Here is what I made that was using as few colors as possible. I think it came out pretty well. Let me know what you think. I am uploading the KG-Chart file as well as a PDF file. If anyone has any suggestions on what can be tweaked they are more than welcome since I haven't done something like this before.
