Sprite Stitch Board!

Hi!
i was wondering if anyone has attempted a Little Miss or Mr. Men pattern/chart?
i havent found anything of the sort... and i am really interested in making the characters.

i would like to do something of a poster, like so:

the size, well...
because i want to put them all together, in a grid kind of way, they cant be too big. i'm not good at guessing sizes, but i would say 60x60 counts?

if anyone has any ideas / any help will be more than welcome!
