Abnormal Request

Post by justinjtp »

Hey guys! I know this isn't a sprite stitch but I am having a really hard time getting a pattern for this picture worked out in KG stitch. I don't want it to be huge but I want it to be detailed. I would like it to be 7-8" wide and whatever height it needs to be for that. I don't really care how many colors it needs to be either. I just want it to look good since it's a present. If anyone would mind helping me out with this it would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
Here is the link for the picture:

Thanks again!!!!!!

Well, I found this picture of the same salmon but at a different angle: http://myds.sakura.ne.jp/z-animal-e/aquatic/red_salmon/

If that's OK, I made a pattern that is 100 x 77 stitches, or ~ 7.14" x 5.5" if you use 14 count canvas (5.6" x 4.3" with 18 count). It has 29 colors, which could get a little annoying.

Here's a preview:

Wafflesmama84 - I found the picture at the website I listed in my post (http://myds.sakura.ne.jp/z-animal-e/aquatic/red_salmon/), but the way I actually found it was typing "sockeye salmon" into google image search and then clicking on icons (only small pics). It's a good way to find small images that don't need to be shrunk down (in other words, they might not lose detail when re-sized).

I actually have a lot of fish patterns that I've stocked up on - I need to do something with them at some point!

I don't know if this helps, but someone has exported the fish sprites from Animal Crossing. They are already small so no resizing needed.

You guys are awesome! Justinjtp posted that request for me and it worked beautifully. We can't seem to get the sizing down in the KG program so that they're not giant but still detailed. That pattern is perfect! Thanks a ton!
