The Princess Bride

Post by power_walker »

Image
The wife is helping me with the exploding TARDIS pattern and asked if I could submit this picture from our favorite movie, The Princess Bride.
Count: 14 count Aida.
Size: 16"x24" (or thereabouts)
Colors: As many as necessary, she's an experienced cross stitcher
Picture was taken directly from my DVD.

Thanks in advance for any help you can be!

Whelp,
I gave KG Charts LE a shot. I'm afraid I'm losing detail. I imported the photo using 100 colors at 24"x18", can anyone give me a hand?

I tried using the upload feature on the board, but it kept erroring out on me.

I tried this but got pretty much the same results, comparing our two. KG is only picking up 21 colours, regardless of what limit you set. I have no idea how to get it to include more. Maybe someone with PC Stitch can give it a go?

I gave this a shot. Great movie by the way. I had to crop photo and lighten it a little so Wesley would stop looking like a blob. Not real happy with the background. Site keeps giving me upload error. Will try putting up a bit later on today. Hopefully then it'll work. :banghead:

Same, I had a preview image to put up, but the site is wonky at the moment. I'll try again later.

As you can't change anything about the picture in KG Chart, you have to do any changes in another editing program like Photoshop. I use Paint.net as a good free alternative. In this case you can try increasing the brightness and maybe the contrast of the source image.

Duh! I never thought to adjust the contrast.. that makes complete sense, if its not picking up more colours its because they all bleed into each other.. Thanks for the pro tip!!
