I've decided to try something I've never done before. That is, after all, what this is all about right?! I've decided to turn my squares into a couple of biscornu. I'm thinking of making them sachets. Doing a LoZ one with the cuccos and the original LoZ filled with either citrus (hubby's favorite scent) or maybe pine or forest scent for the hubby to take to work and put on his desk. The SMB and Pikmin one will be for me. Not sure what scent would go well with those yet. Not going to do the buttons in the middle since both patterns have stuff in the middle that would end up being hidden. Heh.

That's seriously like the cutest idea EVER. As a suggestion, it might be nice to have the pikmin one smell like cut grass, or a fresh/clean floral scent, since their planet is so uninhabited and fresh?MeiTow wrote: The SMB and Pikmin one will be for me. Thank you! I'd never heard of them until about a year ago but I've been debating on trying one out because they are adorable! I hope they don't go too badly for me since I've never done them before. That could be doable. I will say that I know nothing about Pikmin so I probably wouldn't keep that side up but Mario can work with a nice clean/floral scent as well, I think, so I might see what I can find.
I'm thinking of packing them with that stuff you'd normally put in a bowl or whatever so the big pieces (probably have to crunch them up smaller with a hammer or something haha) so they'll smell for a long time before I need to change them out. Another reason I wasn't going to do the buttons. Heh.

I've never made them before, either! After you're done you should totally tell us how it all goes! Potpourri? Yeah, that really should hold the scent for a long time. What do you mean about the buttons?MeiTow wrote:

A lot of them have buttons through the center of them that cause an indentation. I would like to do one with buttons eventually but neither of these ones are good candidate for buttons.SheWhoRoars wrote: What do you mean about the buttons?
Like this:

W.I.P. Wednesday! Got the outline done on the first square! Hoping I can get most of the color finished this evening.

Here's the finished Cucco Attack square.
I love the way the gold border turned out! I know that I probably won't finish the sampler on time, though.
I started late and have not devoted enough time to it.
Sort of related, though, my son is standing on his own and starting to take a few steps!

No worries if you don't get it done in time. The whole point is to bring the community a little closer together and have fun with it. Just be sure to let us see it when it's finally finished!
I have three more chickens left to white out (I hate stitching white on white...arrrrrggghhhh) and the little bit of white on Link's shield and I'll be done with mine as well...at least until I figure out what a good boarder color will be for both it and the other Zelda square I'm going to do. Need to find a color that will work well with both of them so when they are stitched together it will look nice on both sides. lol

Got almost all the black done for mine!I started a bit late, and so I've been doing the whole thing one color at a time. Starting with black. I've done one color. Mostly.
And I'm not finished with the middle bit, either.
Edit: Also I'm not sure why the picture is sideways...
